The Plagne Bellecôte lift Plateau de Carella is a rope tow situated at the foot of the long Levasset haut piste to help riders ascend the short uphill section at the end of the run. It’s quite easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there but, instead of following the piste round to the left at the bottom, you should ride straight on and grab the rope when you run out of speed.

Snowboarders will likely find they still need to unclip or penguin walk as the lift somewhat annoyingly ends around 20m short of the point where the piste starts going downhill again joining the Levasset mid section.

Levasset is one of La Plagne’s best intermediate pistes – do it. This lift just makes it that little bit easier.

Pros
  • No queues
  • Saves hiking
  • Very handy link lift
  • Gives access over to Champagny sector
Cons
  • Very easy to miss
  • Rope tows are not for everyone
