Plagne Bellecôte lift Roche de Mio

Update: Work is already well underway to construct a new Roche de Mio gondola which should operate in time for the 2025/26. The new lift will take a totally different route going from Plagne Bellecôte to a new mid-station at Col de Forcle before then proceeding up to Roche de Mio. The Plagne Bellecôte lift Roche de Mio gondola is one of the oldest lifts in La Plagne and, considering its importance as an arterial lift, really was in dire need of renovation.
La Plagne gondola Roche de Mio
Although many consider Roche de Mio as the full lift line out of Plagne Bellecôte, the lift company SAP deem Roche de Mio to be the second section, covering the journey between Belle Plagne and the Roche de Mio summit itself. The gondola cabins are cramped and only carry 6, while the lift itself is slow, uncomfortable and noisy. From the top, riders can take the third stage (but unlinked) glacier gondola, Bellecôte, over to the glacier sector or alternatively ride the Mio black, Levasset blue, Sources red, Tunnel blue or Inversens red.
- Accesses great runs
- Astounding scenery
- Drops at Roche de Mio cafe
- Low capacity
- Slow, dated, uncomfortable
- Queues can get horrendous
