In total, the combined length of the three Levasset sections is around 5km. The Levasset start from Roche de Mio continuing down to the base of the main Champagny area. This makes it one of La Plagne’s longest pistes. The run stops at the top of the Les Bois red run back to Champagny-en-Vanoise village (which is also worth doing). The Plagne Bellecôte piste Levasset Mid is a hugely enjoyable route and popular with riders of all abilities. However, it is particularly well-suited to La Plagne intermediates.

La Plagne intermediate piste Levasset Mid

For the purposes of clarity, we’ve split the run into three sections but click here to see the full Levasset piste:

The midsection of the run starts just after the Plateau de Carella rope tow, between the Roche de Mio and Champagny sectors. There’s nothing challenging about this part of the run other than trying to keep enough speed to get over the flat section around the Les Killis restaurant.

As this area forms a crossing point between the Tome, Quillis and Levasset runs the mountain patrollers always put up a succession of barriers at the bottom of these runs. This is to try and force riders to drop their speed and help avoid accidents. It’s a good idea as this junction can get very busy – but it really doesn’t help in terms of keeping your speed to get over the flat.

At the bottom, you have options to take the Quillis chair over to the Bellecôte / Belle Plagne side, the Carella chair back up to Roche de Mio or continue along the third section of the Levasset blue piste which drops away just after the restaurant to the left.

Pros
  • Short link piste
  • Links Roche de Mio with Champagny
Cons
  • Beginners on pathways
  • People stopping at steeps
  • Gets scraped due to heavy use
  • Bottleneck in an otherwise great run
  • Fences at bottom mean you will walk the flat
