If you’re happy with a quieter ski or snowboard holiday without the facilities of a busy resort, then a ski holiday in La Roche might be for you. These small villages are close to the bobsleigh track but, other than that, there’s little here. Sure, there’s a bus service up to Plagne Centre but it doesn’t run late which means, if you want to enjoy any kind of normal apres ski, you’ll need a car. In daytime, the Edmond Blanchoz (formerly Cornegidouille) blue or Emile Allais / André Martzolf red pistes will get you back home.

A winter holiday in the La Roche villages will likely be quite different from what you’re used to – but that could be a good thing if you want something quieter.
