Bellecôte glacier lift Traversée

New-Project-2021-08-20T185954.187-1200x675.jpg

NOTE THIS LIFT WAS REMOVED IN THE 23/24 SEASON. The Traversée chair used to take you to the highest point in La Plagne with breathtaking views over the Isère valley towards Mont Blanc and the entire Tarentaise region. This lift gave access to some of the longest and toughest runs on the glacier – the Combe red and Rochu / Bellecôte blacks.

The infamous Bellecôte North Face (La Plagne’s toughest off-piste) was also accessible with a short detour off the black runs – it was (and is) 100% worth doing for better riders though you most definitely need to hire a La Plagne guide. Also of note – on a clear day, the views from the top of this lift were stunning – equalled by the new glacier gondola which stops at pretty much the same point.

Pros
  • Rarely busy
  • Accesses highest point
  • Accesses North Face
  • Short link chair
Cons
  • Aging lift
  • Slow
