Bellecôte glacier piste Déversoir

New-Project-2021-08-15T172351.169-1200x675.jpg

NOTE – THIS RUN NOW LONGER EXISTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO HIKE FOR IT. The red Déversoir used to start with a long, often bumpy traverse skier’s left from the top of the Glacier chairlift. However, we always recommended stopping for a second at the top to take in the views to the right over Trois Vallées, Champagny sector and Grande Casse before heading off.

The Déversoir piste should have only really be graded red at the top where there was a short steep section. The rest was really more of a blue as it ran back to the top gondola station. It was unlikely you would have done this run more than once as getting back to the Glacier chair involved walking back over a fairly long, flat plateau. Instead, we recommended heading for the Traversée chair (now also gone) to explore the other side of the glacier.

Pros
  • Snow-sure
  • Great scenery
  • Widens lower down
  • Drop-off points
Cons
  • Flat near the bottom
  • The top traverse can get busy and is often moguled / scraped
  • You won’t want to ride this twice due to the walk back to the chair
