Champagny lift Champagny gondola
The Champagny lift Champagny gondola rises slowly at first out of Champagny-en-Vanoise (1250m) following the floor of the ravine before climbing a steep face to the top station (around 2000m). The ride is short and fast and makes Champagny an attractive place to stay due to the speed at which you can access the main Champagny pistes (and the other areas beyond). By taking the Borseliers chair then the Rossa chairlift, you’ll access some of La Plagne’s best beginner runs.
Runs back down to the village are graded red (Les Bois and Mont de la Guerre), so beginner riders will likely find themselves taking the lift back down – as is the case later in the season when these lower-level, south-facing runs tend to be the first to close in the whole area. The gondola cabins were replaced for season 2018/19, making the journey more comfortable – while the views over Trois Vallées and the Pralognan-la-Vanoise valley from the lift remain as dramatic as ever and this lift offers some of La Plagne’s best scenery.
