The Montchavin lift Plan Bois starts just above Montchavin Les Coches at an altitude of 1376m and climbs to a height of 1881m terminating near the Lac Noir gondola. From the top, it’s possible to join the Mont Blanc blue or La Duy red – each of which links into a myriad of other pistes in the Montchavin sector further down the mountain. Plan Bois is also one of La Plagne’s fastest lifts.

If you’re using the lift to get back up into the main area, take a left at the top and ride the short link piste down to the high-speed Bijolin chair which takes you to the top of the Montchavin sector. From here both the Salla chair and Crozats detachable chair link into the pistes in the Plagne Bellecôte / Roche de Mio sector above Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecôte.

Pros
  • Fantastic scenery
  • Fast, detatchable chair
  • Main link out of Les Coches
  • Gives access to some great runs
Cons
  • As with most lifts in Montchavin, it gets busy later with people returning from Les Arcs
