Montchavin piste Barrières
The Montchavin piste Barrières blue run is more of a link route than an actual run as such. The piste starts from the top of the Crozats chair and links down onto the main Arpette runs on the Roche de Mio / Plagne Bellecôte sector of the mountain above Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne.
Although this run is actually in the Bellecôte bowl, it’s officially marked as being in the Montchavin sector – presumably because it can only be accessed from that area. It’s one of the primary routes back from the Montchavin side of the mountain into the main area – as such, the Crozats chair is the best lift to take on the way back from Les Arcs to get back to La Plagne.
Both Crozats and Salla chairs can be used to get back from the village of Montchavin – though it’s worth noting, despite being longer, the Crozats chair is much quicker and should be your first choice.
The views at the top station of the chair over the Bellecôte bowl and beyond towards the Grande Rochette sector are some of the most impressive in the whole area so be sure to stop for a second at the top to soak up the vista and take in La Plagne’s best scenery. Unfortunately, this run can get cramped in busier times of the season as riders make their way back from Montchavin and Les Arcs. Consequently, it’s a good idea to stay aware of who’s around you on the pathway section.
